The Bradenton - is a 1948 10/6 (10 roomettes and 6 full bedrooms) Pullman Sleeper, manufactured by the Edward Budd Company in Philadelphia, PA. When delivered to the Pennsylvania Railroad in 1948-49 the car was numbered 8334. The Bradenton served passengers as part of the Silver Meteor passenger train. Later The Bradenton would be re-numbered to 4368 by the Penn Central and finally 2707 by Amtrak. Seaboard Railroad seems to have also operated the car under the #2707. The Pullman Company staffed and operated the car for the railroads. Their excellent staff was composed primarily of members of the Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters, one of the most powerful African-American political entities of the 20th century. From manufacture to it's life today as part of the live exhibits at the Florida Railroad Museum in Parrish, FL the car has always served under the name Bradenton.
